Debs & Simon // Priory Cottages, Wetherby – Springtime. 9th May 15

I met Debs at the Vintage Wedding fair in Sheffield and since then I’d spent a lot of time with her and Simon going over the precise planning of what shaped up to be an absolutely awesome day in the heart of Yorkshire…

The day started off with Debs & the children at their home in Boston Spa before their chauffeured vintage Land Rover whisked Debs & Her dad over to Newton Kyme Church, part of the Newton Kyme estate and a wonderful period Manor house.

The intimate ceremony was the perfect suiting to their personalities and included both of their children as the cutest flower girls…

The reception was held at the ever brilliant Priory Cottages, their tables were themed after brand of champagne with each of the tables having two bottles of said champagne for general quaffing and toasting purposes! A fantastic idea and one I hadn’t seen before.

I adore the Priory Cottages, it’s such a great, secluded little spot that has so much potential to have a personal stamp put on it, plus the staff are absolutely ace in every way! Debs & Simon had opted for their wedding breakfast in the loft barn above with drinks reception in the atrium below.

With the old Priory currently undergoing redevelopment, we made use of the early spring afternoon light with the shabbiness of the flooring, coupled with the new coats of Farrow & Ball paint to the walls making a great backdrop for a few portraits…

Following the speeches there came the time to play what was termed ‘the shoe game’ where the couple were asked questions and the others’ shoes were raised to indicate who a situation was most relevant to… Quite bizarre but hilarious all the same, I honestly see something new with every wedding I attend.

Much dancing then ensued and I stayed to join in with the party!
I’m sure as I write this now that the Contractors are just about putting the finishing touches to the new accommodation and I’ll look forward to catching up with the progression of the build come the Autumn when I’m next at the Priory Cottages.

As for Debs & Simon, it was an absolute joy to be a part of their day!
